A big baby!

I was completing the RSPB survey this morning when I had a lovely surprise. A couple of greater spotted woodpeckers came down to feed on the peanuts. As I watched I soon realised that one was a large chick as the parent started to feed it. When they flew into the apple tree they continued so I snapped this shot. It's not quite in focus but at least I didn't lose them.

St Matthew's as seen from Rock Cottage

I've been taking lots of snaps for our local history group recently and am particularly fond of this one with all the lime green leaves in the spring. I took it from Rock Cottage which was built by a local stone mason.
